Actually the Earth revolves around the Sun and the Moon revolves around the Earth. While revolving, there comes a time when the Earth, the Sun and the Moon are all in one line. When the Earth is in between the Moon and the Sun, the Sun’s light does not fall on the Moon and it is called a lunar eclipse. But when the Moon comes in between the Sun and the Earth, then the light of the Sun does not reach the Earth, it is called a solar eclipse. Although religiously, eclipse is seen as an inauspicious event.
