PAK Vs BAN was a historic match in every sense. It was a joyous occasion for Bangladesh as they broke the 24-year-old shackles of the Pakistan team to register their first-ever test win against them.
But it was a nightmare for the Pakistan team who not only faced their first defeat against Bangladesh but are yet to register a home win since 2022. Not only that, they are now in eighth in the WTC table and are out of the finals.
Former PCB chairman lambasted the Pakistan team and their performances. He opened up about how the team selection was wrong and the pace attack had lost all their glory.
‘India Exposed You’
Ramiz stated, “Firstly, there was a mistake in team selection. You were without a spinner. Secondly, the reputation based on which we rely on our fast bowlers is finished.
This debacle, a sort of a confidence crisis, started during the Asia Cup when India bashed our pacers on seaming conditions and then the secret was out to the world that the only way to counter this line-up was to attack. Their speeds have decreased, and so have their skill set.”
He further praised Bangladesh pacers and how they were more penetrative than Pakistan’s attack. Ramiz even went ahead and stated that the Pakistan team did not have an “out-and-out fast bowler” in the match.
PAK Vs BAN: Shan Masood In Danger?
This match has raised a lot of questions about Shan Masood and his captaincy. He came under scrutiny after the early declaration in the first innings and then he accepted the fact that he read the conditions wrong. He is yet to win a test match under his captaincy.
Ramiz touched on this matter and stated, “Shan Masood is currently on a losing streak. I felt, in Australian conditions, things are tougher and the Pakistan team couldn’t win a series there.
But you are now losing in home conditions, against a team like Bangladesh, because you did not read the conditions well.”
