Punjab News: — In a significant move to boost women’s participation in the workforce, the Punjab government is set to launch a series of job skill camps across all districts. The initiative aims to empower women by equipping them with essential skills, knowledge, and resources needed for enhanced employability and entrepreneurship.
The first camp will be inaugurated by Dr. Baljit Kaur, the Social Security, Women, and Child Development Minister, on September 10 in Muktsar. This program is a collaborative effort with the Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Department and will be primarily hosted in educational institutions across the state.
Objective and Benefits of the Camps
Dr. Kaur highlighted that the primary objective of these camps is to close the gender gap in employment and foster economic empowerment among women. “In today’s era, it is crucial to support women in developing their skills to ensure equal opportunities to thrive in the workforce,” Kaur said.
The camps will offer various training sessions aimed at improving job placement assistance, career advancement, and entrepreneurial skills. By focusing on essential skills and knowledge, the program seeks to enhance women’s confidence and readiness to enter or advance in the job market.
Empowering Women for Economic Growth
The initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to addressing gender disparities in employment and supporting women in their career development. By hosting these camps in educational institutions, the program aims to reach a wide audience and provide valuable resources directly to potential candidates.
As the program rolls out across the state, it is expected to make a significant impact on women’s economic empowerment, helping them achieve their professional goals and contribute more effectively to the workforce.
