Income Tax News: According to Fortune India, Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan has once again emerged as the highest-paying celebrity in India for the fiscal year 2024, having paid an astounding Rs 95 crore in taxes. Salman Khan and Vijay Thalapathy are next on the list. However, a number of prominent female actors have also established themselves in the top 20 list of taxpayers.
Shah Rukh Khan Leads with Rs 95 Crore
Shah Rukh Khan leads the list with a hefty tax payment of Rs 95 crore after releasing three successful films, two of which made over Rs 1000 crore at the worldwide box office. Along with increasing his wealth, his steady success has made him an important contributor to the national exchequer.
Vijay Thalapathy and Salman Khan Among Top 3
Superstar Vijay Thalapathy from the South is not far behind, coming in second with a Rs 80 crore tax payment. Salman Khan of Bollywood, who paid Rs 75 crore in taxes this year, ranks in third. The successful releases of both celebrities have increased their earnings.
Female Actresses Among Top Taxpayers
While male performers hold the majority of the prominent roles, female celebrities such as Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor have also made noteworthy contributions. Katrina Kaif contributed Rs 11 crore in taxes, while Kareena Kapoor paid Rs 20 crore. Another emerging star, Kiara Advani, paid Rs 12 crore, demonstrating the growing influence of female actors.
Other Celebrities in the Top 20 List
There are a number of other well-known names in the top 20 taxpayers of 2024. Legendary cricketer Sourav Ganguly contributed Rs 23 crore, while comedian Kapil Sharma paid Rs 26 crore. Tax payments made by Shahid Kapoor and Hardik Pandya were Rs. 14 crore and Rs. 13 crore, respectively. Together with versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi, who contributed Rs 11 crore, South Indian megastars Mohanlal and Allu Arjun also made it to the list as well, each contributing Rs 14 crore in taxes.
