Rajasthan Weather Update: Rajasthan is reeling under the effects of torrential rain, causing concern for both the government and citizens. The eastern parts of the state are expected to face another day of relentless downpours, with the Meteorological Department issuing a severe weather warning. Heavy rainfall is predicted in 12 districts, including Banswara, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Jhalawar, Karauli, Kota, Pratapgarh, and Sawai Madhopur. A yellow alert has been issued for these regions, signaling the potential for significant disruption. Other districts in eastern Rajasthan are also likely to experience rainfall.
In Ajmer, where heavy rains have already caused significant damage, the army has been deployed to help manage the situation.
- Weather System and Further Predictions
According to the Meteorological Department, a circulation system is currently located over central Rajasthan, extending up to an altitude of 5.8 km. A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression and is expected to move toward Odisha and West Bengal over the next 24 hours, potentially intensifying into a deep depression.
Warnings for September 12 and 13
Due to the impact of this system, heavy rain is forecasted today in most parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, and Udaipur divisions. From September 10 to 11, moderate rainfall will continue across parts of eastern Rajasthan, with heavy downpours in the Kota and Udaipur divisions. The Bay of Bengal depression is expected to increase rainfall activities again on September 12 and 13, with predictions of extremely heavy rain in some areas of eastern Rajasthan.
The government and local authorities are on high alert as they brace for further weather-related challenges in the coming days.
