Malaika Arora: Yesterday, Bollywood celebrity Malaika Arora suffered a tragic loss when her father allegedly died of suicide. The actress was not in town when the incident occurred, her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan reached the place first to take care of everything in her absence. Later, Malaika Arora issued a statement on her Instagram handle regarding the incident but one thing started an online controversy, her father’s surname. Malaika uses the surname ‘Arora’ but mentioned her father Anil’s surname as ‘Mehta’ which caused an online stir. Here is how the fans reacted.
Fans React to Malaika Arora’s Surname
After her tragic loss, Malaika Arora gathered herself and posted a note about her father’s demise. She wrote, “We’re deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock and we request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect. With gratitude Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayyan, Casper, AXL, Duffy and Buddy.”
Her father’s surname Mehta caused confusion among the fans. They started trending commenting their queries in her comment section. One user wrote, ‘Father was Anil Kuldip Mehta, Mother is Joyce Polycarp but Daughters are Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora. How? ‘ other commented, ‘I am not able to understand one thing, Malaika is 50 and his father is 62 so did Mr. Anil born Malaika at the age of 12?’ One of the fans commented ‘ this man is her stepfather. Not her original father.’
According to ETV Bharat, a close source of Newswire said that Anil Kuldip Mehta is indeed Malaika Arora’s stepfather.
Malaika Arora Got the Back of Her Friends
Right after the news of the demise of Malaika’s father, big Bollywood celebrities including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Salman Khan’s family, Arjun Kapoor and many more started flocking to her house. Kareena Kapoor’s film The Buckingham Murders is about to release tomorrow but the actress reportedly cancelled or postponed all her plans to be with Malaika. Yesterday, late night, Malaika and Amrita left for her home. They were accompanied by Kareena and Karishma Kapoor, a concerned Arjun Kapoor was also present to support Malaika.
