Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024: In a rally held in Maharashtra’s Dhule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed Congress’ caste-based politics, accusing the party of dividing the nation along caste lines to gain political leverage. Echoing the message of unity, Modi introduced the slogan “Ek Hai Toh Safe Hai,” cautioning that Congress is attempting to pit different caste groups against one another, particularly within SC, ST, and OBC communities.
Accusations Against Congress’ Caste Census and Intentions
Modi alleged that the Congress party, through its stance on the caste census, has a “sole agenda” to weaken the unity of historically marginalized groups. He argued that the Congress “cannot bear to see the progress” of Dalits, tribals, and backward classes, and accused Rahul Gandhi of trying to fragment these communities.
Unity as a Safeguard Against Division
The Prime Minister emphasized that unity is crucial to strength and stability, urging citizens to stay united amidst efforts to sow discord. “Congress’ agenda is to create a rift between all the tribal communities of the country,” he remarked, comparing Congress’ caste-based strategy to historical events that caused the nation’s division. Modi’s slogan aligns with a similar message from UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who stated, “Ek Rahenge Toh Nek Rahenge.”
