New on Netflix: Netflix has always had success with the Korean drama genre, especially since Squid Game opened the world’s eyes to the region’s film and TV output. There is now more interest than ever in the latest South Korean offerings.
September is a light month in terms of k-drama offerings. Although more dramas could be added to the list by the time September rolls around, for now, there are two major dramas that fans are highly anticipating.
1. Little Women
Based on Louisa May Alcott’s often adapted novel Little Women, the show follows the lives of 3 sisters trying to make the most of what they have. This Korean adaptation is also set in Modern times rather than being a period piece. The show is to release on Netflix on September 9, with each of the 12 episodes releasing weekly.
2. Narco-Saints
Despite the title, the show has nothing to do with Netflix’s hit series Narcos. However, it is still a show based on the true story of a South American drug kingpin. It is set to release on September 9, with all six episodes releasing together.
