Vastu Tips: North or South? Pankit Goyal Clears the Air on Sleeping Directions

On his Instagram page, prominent Vastu expert Acharya Pankit Goyal dispels urban legends around sleeping positions and bedroom orientation.

Vastu Tips

Vastu Tips: One such celebrity Vastu consultant is Acharya Pankit Goyal, who has been in limelight on Instagram for his tips related to living spaces. Recently, he shared a post about certain myths that are associated with bedroom directions and how they connect to our health.

Myth 1-Sleeping with Your Head to the North Causes Health Problems

Another very famous theory in Vastu Shastra is that sleeping with one’s head towards the north is bad for a person’s health. This belief predominantly affects the brain and is believed to have its roots in disturbance to the Earth’s magnetic field due to interference from the magnetic field of the body. Acharya Pankit Goyal calls this notion a myth.

He further adds that there is no scientific evidence found regarding the existence of any magnetic pole in the human head or feet. He has also not come across any convincing evidence that people face health problems because they sleep in a particular direction. If the traditional Vastu suggests avoidance of the north-facing orientation for safety, Goyal suggests it is not something to be afraid or anxious about.

Myth 2-Some Directions Guarantee Benefits

Another common myth is that some sleeping directions guarantee positive results for health, success, etc. Goyal suggests that while a Vastu-compliant direction is preferable, it is not possible in every living situation. One need not worry too much if one can’t sleep in the “ideal” direction.

A Balanced Perspective

According to Acharya Pankit Goyal, Vastu has to be adopted in a very balanced way in which safety and practicality are not compromised for myths. While following Vastu increases the energy flow of any space, there is no need to get too obsessed about certain rules that may not have a very strong basis in reality.
