Vastu Tips: Vastu expert Prashaant Sharma recently shared some valuable insights about how one can choose the right colours for their homes in a latest Instagram post. In his “10 Days 10 Vastu Tips” series, Sharma took up a very common concern: how to select colours without turning your house into a rainbow while abiding by the Vastu guidelines.
The Challenge of Multi-Color Vastu Compliance
Sharma began by acknowledging the fact that most of the experts on Vastu prescribe a different color for various directions in a house. In Vastu, a traditional color has been attached to each direction, and the wrong color in any particular direction creates a Vastu fault that may disturb the harmony and balance of a home. However, painting each room in a different color is overwhelming and aesthetically very difficult.
He said this dilemma was to have the same color in off-white throughout the house. He explained that off-white is, at the end of the day, just a neutral color which would not create any Vastu faults in any direction. In this way, the dwelling will be balanced and harmonized in relation to Vastu, and there will be peace among its residents.

Of benefit to anyone who wants to be consistent with the color palette in the home while adhering to Vastu, Sharma says, is the advice to choose off-white for cohesion without falling afoul of Vastu guidelines by having to use a host of colors that may conflict or overpower a space.
