Ashok Leyland: One of India’s commercial vehicle manufacturers, Ashok Leyland, has received an order worth Rs 800 crore from Indian Army. This manufacturing company has a history of serving the country by providing best-in-class commercial vehicles for several years.
Now, the company has been offered an order worth Rs 800 crore by the Indian Army. Ashok Leyland revealed on Monday that it won a big order from the army. This contract includes procurement of the Field Artillery Tractor (FAT 4×4) and the Gun Towing Vehicle (GTV 6×6).
The FAT 4×4 and GTV 6×6 are designed for two artillery guns in the forward areas. The FAT 4×4 is efficient in hauling light guns, on the other hand, the GTV 6×6 can tow medium artillery guns over unforgiving terrain. According to Ashok Leyland, it has said the vehicles will be delivered to the Indian Army in the coming months.
Ashok Leyland plays a vital role in the defense sector of India. Moreover, the company has a history of investing in the development of various platforms such as 6×6, 8×8, 4×4, 10×10, and even 12×12 to fulfill the operational requirements of the Indian Army.
