Bharat NCAP vs Global NCAP

Bharat NCAP vs Global NCAP: Recently, Tata Harrier and Safari scored big in the first-ever crash test of Bharat NCAP. The Indian Government launched India’s own Car Assessment Program BNCAP this year, Bharat NCAP is a safety assessment program that aims to ensure the safety of cars specifically designed for Indian roads and driving conditions. However, BNCAP heavily resembles to well-established counterpart Global NCAP in many aspects. On the other hand, it differs from Global NCAP in some areas. Curious to know the difference between the two? Check more details below.

One of the major differences between the two remains in the scoring system, Bharat NCAP gives more emphasis to child occupant protection than the Global NCAP. Another noticeable difference is that Bharat NCAP has proposed to plan specific tests for Electric vehicles and CNG vehicles which reflects the government’s dedication to equally cater to alternative fuel options in India.

Global NCAP

Global NCAP was established in 2011. GNCAP works as a non-profit organisation and comes among the reputed car safety assessment programs across the world. It is recognized widely for its five-star rating system. Global NCAP has contributed to vehicle safety and motivated carmakers to prioritize safety features in their cars globally.

GNCAP’s “Safer for India Campaign” significantly contributed to promoting Indian automakers to emphasize safety features in their products.

Key Differences Between GNCAP and BNCAP
