Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Citroen India has released new information on the upcoming C3 Aircross SUV. The French-brand’s next product for India under the C-cubed programme will be on sale in the coming months and will be aimed at the critical mid-size SUV sector, which has a crowded field. Bookings for the C3 Aircross will commence in September, with pricing and deliveries scheduled for October of this year.
Fuel efficiency is much better than these competitors
Citroen has confirmed the powertrain details as well as the fact that the C3 Aircross 1.2 turbo petrol with manual gearbox gets an ARAI certified fuel efficiency number of 18.5kpl. When compared against midsize SUVs equipped with either a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine or a 1.5-liter normally aspirated petrol engine, the C3 Aircross falls in the centre of the pack. The future Honda Elevate 1.5 NA achieves 16.11kpl, while the Kushaq 1.0 TSI and Taigun 1.0 TSI achieve 16.83kpl and 18.23kpl, respectively. The fuel efficiency of the Creta and Seltos 1.5 NA is 16.85kpl and 17.35kpl, respectively. The Grand Vitara and Hyryder are the most fuel efficient of the bunch, returning 21.12kpl.
Engine and powertrain
The C3 Aircross will be powered by a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine producing 110hp and 190Nm of torque and coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. An automated transmission option is anticipated to be added later. This is the same engine that drives the C3 turbo hatchback.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Features
The C3 Aircross will be available in five and seven seat configurations. It has four personalization packs. A 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.2-inch infotainment screen with connected car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are among the highlights. On higher variations, it also has auto stop-start, hill hold, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The C3 Aircross, on the other hand, does not come with a sunroof in any model.
