Citroen launched eC3 and the popular C3 Aircross in India this year which made 2023 a happening year for the brand. The brand has equally exciting products to showcase in India in 2024 including the highly anticipated high-stance sedan, Citroen C3X and an all-electric offering, eC3 Aircross SUV. Citroen is also expected to launch a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the C3 Hatchback and C3. Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross: New Variants
However, the brand has not yet confirmed when will it launch an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox for the C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross SUV. The automatic variant will definitely be the vacuum that presently exists in Citroen’s India lineup. It is expected that the new torque converter automatic will be coupled with an updated version of the already available 1.2-litre petrol engine which generates a maximum power of 110 bhp.
Citroen C3X
Citroen is also expected to launch the highly anticipated, C3X which will be introduced as a differentiating product in the entire Indian portfolio of Citroen. The C3X will be a mid-size sedan with a higher riding stance and rugged design. The upcoming Citroen C3X will give tough competition to its rivals such as Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia and one of the popular sedans, Hyundai Verna. Citroen C3X will get the 1.2 litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine which will come coupled with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. The automaker has not released any details about the price of the crossover, but we expected that the price of C3X would range between Rs. 10 lakh to 12 lakh.
Citroen eC3 Aircross
Citroen is also expected to launch Citroen eC3 in India in late 2024. The upcoming hatchback will be introduced as the electric version of the C3 Aircross. The C3 Aircross comes based on the CMP platform, so it makes sense to launch an electric variant of the same. Citroen eC3 hatchback featured a 29.2KWh battery, so we expect that the eC3 Aircross will carry a bigger battery pack. Additionally, it will also come in 5-seater and 7-seater options.
