Honda Electric Sports Car: Recently at the Consumer Electric Show CES 2024, Honda unveiled two unique EV concepts which were the point of attraction throughout the event. These concepts hint that Honda is planning to foray into a sportscar segment. Recent reports suggest that the Japanese automaker is working on an electric sports car that will join the automaker’s EV portfolio as a flagship offering.
Honda CEO Says…
While giving a statement to Autocar UK, Toshihiro Mibe, CEO of Honda, said that the Japanese auto giant plans to foray into the sports car segment. In his statement, he also hinted that Honda is working on a new electric sports car that will join the brand’s EV lineup as the flagship product. As per a report, Mibe also said that the Honda Research and Development Centre is working on a performance-centric EV which will make its global debut in 2026.
Honda’s Upcoming Performance EV Design
Although, Mibe didn’t talk about the details of the upcoming electric performance EV. However, he also said that the upcoming EV is still in the development phase. But, If the revealed concept design is adopted for the future Honda 0 Series electric cars, the Performance EV is expected to arrive with a low profile. The cockpit is expected to get a simple and minimalistic design which will lessen the driver’s distractions on the go. In addition to this, the EV sportscar is expected to get a sleeker battery pack than other EV offerings of the brand.
