Honda: New electric scooters from Honda Two-Wheeler India will be introduced in 2024, marking the company’s entry into the electric vehicle market. Recent developments include a guaranteed debut date of 2024 for the Indian market along with the introduction of the two new electric scooters, according to an official Honda Global document.
In order to enter the country’s EV market, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has developed a comprehensive plan that addresses the most important aspects of manufacturing, product, and service. The Japanese two-wheeler juggernaut intends to serve the electric two-wheeler industry by constructing a factory specifically for EV production at its Narsapura plant in Karnataka, which will be known as Factory “E.” With a goal of producing 1 million units by 2030, the company will produce its own electric motors. From Honda’s affiliate suppliers, batteries and power management systems will be purchased locally.

Both the two-wheelers will be produced in India and built on a brand-new, EV-specific basis known as Platform “E.” Future versions of electric scooters will be able to use the same platform as these next models, opening up a wide range of new options. A fixed battery type is also reportedly part of the new scooter’s design, according to some media reports.
The second scooter might have a swappable battery, and it will be known as Activa Electric. These are, however, simply rumours, so we must wait till the business makes a formal announcement.
Also disclosed in this document is the general layout of the electric scooters. It is pretty obvious from a closer examination of both designs that one is a typical commuting scooter while the other features a sporty appearance. The conventional one appears to be the Activa EV, which might use the name Activa EV. On the other hand, the sporty scooter might be geared towards performance-driven youthful customers and may have Honda Dio-inspired design cues.
