Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV: Hyundai opened reservations for its flagship product, the Ioniq 5 EV, on December 20, 2022. The EV has now received over 650 orders in India, which is a good number for a premium EV. The Ioniq 5 is locally assembled in India, allowing Hyundai to price the EV more competitively than some of its competitors, who are imported as fully built-up units (CBUs).

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV equipped with one of the fastest charging battery
Although its Rs 44.95 lakh price tag may be prohibitively expensive for the average car buyer, the Ioniq EV has a respectable range – 631km according to ARAI. It has a battery pack with a capacity of 72.6kWh and supports ultra-fast DC charging. When charged at its maximum rate, the battery can be recharged to 80% in just 18 minutes.
Driver-assistance technology
Premium features include powered, comfort-oriented Relaxation seats, a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone AC, and V2L (vehicle-to-load) technology to power external devices and appliances. The Ioniq 5 receives driver-assistance technology such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and forward collision avoidance.
Price and variants
The Ioniq 5 EV is available in a single long-range, rear-drive (RWD) variant that costs Rs 44.95 lakh, which is less than the EV’s main competitors, the Kia EV6 and Volvo XC40 Recharge. Customers are expected to begin receiving the Ioniq 5 soon.
