Hyundai: At the 2023 Auto Show, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 5 will both be on display. They share a number of similarities, including the platform.
Hyundai Ioniq 6
At the Greater Noida Auto Expo in 2023, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) will display the Ioniq 6 electric sedan. The Ioniq 5 EV, which will compete with the Kia EV6, is expected to be priced at about Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom) and be announced at the same event. Its sedan brother shares the E-GMP platform with the Ioniq 5.
The third all-electric vehicle offered by the brand in foreign countries, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 made its debut internationally a few months ago. The Ioniq 6 is available with many battery choices, and multiple drive configurations, and due to the dedicated skateboard architecture, it has a roomy interior.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 competes against the Tesla Model 3, Polestar 2, and BMW i4, and customers have praised it for its distinctive style and contemporary appeal. Its sweeping bodywork has a classic charm and boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.21. The ducktail spoiler, full-width pixel-type LED tail lamps, significant notchback stance, and fashionable alloy wheels all enhance the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal.
Specifications and Features
The Ioniq 6 has dimensions of 4,855 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, 1,495 mm in height, and 2,950 mm in wheelbase. Additionally, the inside is jam-packed with cutting-edge features and capabilities. It has a double-screen arrangement, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and significantly fewer buttons than other vehicles. It has a battery pack that is 53 kWh and another that is 77 kWh.
Similar to the Ioniq 5, the top-spec models’ twin electric motor arrangement generates 320 horsepower and 605 Nm, while the rear-wheel drive model generates 228 hp and 350 Nm. The variant with the larger battery pack has a claimed WLTP range of 614 km with RWD, compared to 583 km with all-wheel drive.
A single charge is said to extend the driving range of the smaller battery pack by 429 kilometres. Given that it shares many similarities with the soon-to-be-released Ioniq 5, Hyundai might utilise the motoring show to test consumer reaction before introducing it. Online reservations for the EV are currently available for Rs. 1 lakh initial token.
