Engine details
Two petrol engines are available for the sedan: a new 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with 160 PS and 253 Nm coupled to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT, and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with 115 PS and 144 Nm coupled to either a six-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
Similar to the Kushaq, Slavia uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine, both of which produce 115PS and 178Nm (150PS and 250Nm). Both engines come standard with a six-speed manual transmission. The former has a six-speed torque converter and the latter is combined with a seven-speed DCT for automatic choices (dual-clutch automatic).
Features
The 2023 Verna sedan’s top new features include heated and ventilated seats (a segment first), a powered driver’s seat, Bose audio, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display similar to that found in Venues, ambient lighting, and, most importantly, a complete ADAS suite. Automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, a sunroof, and a keyless entry with a button start are all features that the car still offers. The 2023 Verna includes ADAS in addition to six airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, parking sensors, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
The list of features for the Slavia includes a sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, ambient interior lighting, touch-based climate controls, ambient interior lighting, ventilated front seats, and cruise control. Up to six airbags may be installed, along with ABS with EBD, traction control, hill hold control, a rear parking camera with sensors, and tyre pressure monitoring.
Price in India
The Hyundai Verna has a starting price of Rs. 10.90 Lakh and a maximum price of Rs. 17.38 Lakh. Hyundai Verna is available in 10 variations, with EX being the entry-level model and Hyundai Verna SX Opt Turbo DCT being the most expensive at Rs. 17.38 lakhs.
The Skoda Slavia costs between Rs. 11.29 Lakh to Rs. 18.40 Lakh. The Skoda Slavia is available in 8 variations, with the 1.0 TSI Active being the entry-level model and the 1.5 TSI Style DSG being the most expensive at Rs. 18.40 lakh.
