Kia Carnival 2023: Design
The fourth-generation Kia Carnival adopts a more SUV-like look with angular surfaces and a squared-off stance in place of cab-forward MPV-like styling. The brand’s new design language, which we have already seen on tough UVs like the Kia Telluride, Sorento, and Seltos, gives the new KA4 a bold and boxy appearance.
Along with angular headlamps and LED DRLs, the new Carnival has Kia’s recognisable “tiger nose” front grille with a diamond pattern and chrome (Daytime Running Lamps). The SUV has a shorter front overhang and a longer hood thanks to the relocation of the A-base. pillar’s The low beam lamps are situated separately at the front’s outer edges, while the high beam lamps are mounted on the grille’s corner. The turn signal lamps on the Carnival are encircled by the DRLs.
Interior features
The new model’s cabin is entirely different from the previous model’s. The new Carnival has an interior colour scheme of dual-tone beige and brown and two 12.3-inch touchscreen displays for the instrument console and infotainment system. The two screens are housed in a single frame for a more elegant appearance. Touch-sensitive buttons scattered all over the screen can be used to control a number of features. For the climate control system, a similar panel is located down the centre console.
Kia Carnival 2023: Exterior features
For second-row passengers in the 7-seater version, Kia offers reclining “captain chairs” with adjustable backrests, armrests, and legrests that provide “business class” seating for comfort on lengthy trips. The large model also offers residents a variety of useful storage options. Along with voice recognition, the infotainment system is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it provides real-time telematics data on smartphones and the in-car touchscreen. Users can simultaneously connect two smartphones via Bluetooth to an infotainment system.
It also has a brand-new feature called “Rear Passenger View & Talk.” Instead of turning around in their seat, front passengers can use this feature to check on passengers in the backseat using a small camera connected to the infotainment system.
Some other features
Wider air intakes, a fog lamp enclosure, and metallic trim are features of the sculpted bumper. The new Carnival has a strong beltline connecting the front and rear lamps that runs the entire length of the vehicle. The new Kia Carnival has a unique ‘island roof’ design, which is a blacked-out A- and B-pillars and the body-coloured roof. The stylish C-pillar signature design is inspired by the Sorento. The rear profile has been adorned by LED tail-lamps connected via a large LED light bar. There is a chrome bar positioned above the LED light and wraps around the base of the rear window and the rear side windows.
Engine options
The new generation N3 platform, which also supports the new Sorento SUV, is the foundation for the new-generation Kia Carnival. The three engine options for the global-spec model are a 2.2-liter Smartstream turbo diesel engine, a 268-bhp, 3.5-liter MPi petrol V6, and a 290-bhp, 3.5-liter GDi V6 Smartstream engine. The new Carnival will only be available in India with a turbo diesel engine that generates 199 bhp and 440 nm of torque. This new engine’s aluminium block makes it 20 kg lighter than the cast iron block of the previous engine.
