Kia Clavis: Kia Motors is planning to bring an all-new sub-compact SUV, Kia Clavis to India. The upcoming sub-4 metre SUV will be positioned between the Kia Sonet and Seltos. It is reported that the sub-compact SUV will feature a rugged design with a boxy design language. Kia Clavis is expected to be offered in multiple variants which include ICE, EV and Hybrid powertrain. The company will launch the Hybrid variant before the hybrid variant. Check more details below.

Reports suggest that the India-bound Kia Clavis will make its global debut by the 2024 end. It is also informed that Kia Motors India has plans to introduce around 1 lakh units of Kia Clavis annually. Sources tell that 80 Percent of these units will be Internal combustion models of this SUV. While Kia will also export the upcoming SUV to other countries.
As we mentioned before, the Kia Clavis will be positioned between the Sonet and Seltos which are two of the most popular products in the Kia’s portfolio. Kia Clavis will be more of a lifestyle vehicle set to come with a higher stance and rugged and boxier design. Despite being a lifestyle, reports suggest that the upcoming SUV will lack the 4-wheel drive option.
Kia Clavis: Will It Hurt the Sales of Kia Sonet and Seltos?
While the Kia Clavis will be a great addition to the Kia India portfolio, it is not expected that this sub-compact SUV will replace or hurt the sales of the Kia Sonet or Seltos as both these products have an honest customer base in India. On the other hand, Kia Clavis is going to be a different product altogether which will cater to people seeking a higher stance and rugged car.
