New Kia Sonet: Kia has finally launched one of the most awaited sub-compact SUVs, the Kia Sonet Facelift. Earlier this year, the brand launched the popular Kia Sonet Facelift in the subcontinent which received a great deal of attention from the customers. The new Sonet has received some in its interiors and exteriors. Check out details about all new features and additions in the Sub-4 metre SUV below.
Sonet Facelift- Exterior Updates
The Kia Sonet non-facelift variant already holds a sporty stance, the facelift variant has received some upgrades in the front fascia and rear profile. The Sonet facelift features an all-new front profile with new DRLs and upgraded headlamps. The SUV also comes with updated front and rear bumpers. Other elements of the compact SUV like a signature tiger nose grille have been derived from the standard variant in the facelifted Sonet.
The Kia Sonet features the same side profile as the standard Kia Sonet, except for a new set of alloy wheels. The compact SUV gets upgraded tail lamps as the new vertical units have replaced the previous ones which are now interconnected with an LED lighting element. These are the same upgrades that the Kia Seltos have already received.
Kia Sonet Facelift: Interior Updates
The new facelifted Sonet features an all-new dashboard and a new switchgear for the HVAC system. It seems that the Kia Sonet has derived some of its upgrades from Hyundai and other Kia models including the Kia Seltos’s 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and driver’s display seems to be borrowed from Hyundai Venue and Kia Carens.
In terms of safety, the Kia Sonet Facelift has some major improvements that can be an advantage for the new compact SUV. Kia offers 6 airbags as a standard feature in the facelifted Sonet across all models. The new Sonet also boasts a host of ADAS features as its sibling Kia Seltos Facelift.
Kia Sonet Facelift: Powertrain
The Facelifted Kia Sonet gets the same 1.2-litre MPi engine as the standard model which generates a maximum power of 83 PS and a peak torque of 115 Nm. The powerhouse comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. It also gets another 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that is capable of generating the maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 172 Nm, this powertrain comes with the 6iMT and 7DCT transmission options. The third powertrain on the option is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out the maximum power of 116 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm coupled with 6iMT and 6AT transmission options.
