Lexus LC500h Car: Coming with these premium features
The 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which replaces the previous 10.3-inch unit, is the most apparent improvement on the new LC500h. The new screen is housed independently and has been shifted towards the driver for easy access, in contrast to the earlier screen, which was deeply embedded and integrated into the dashboard. The new screen has a form that is similar to that of the Lexus RX and comes with a completely new software interface with enhanced functionality, just like the RX.
The previous screen, which was controlled by a separate touchpad on the centre console, was likewise not a touch screen. The new touchscreen not only improves functionality but also provides a much-needed ergonomic upgrade to the system, which was far from user-intuitive. The touchpad has been removed from the central console, and Lexus has relocated some of the buttons there for a neater appearance and improved usage.
Engine and powertrain
Under the hood, the LC500h still runs a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 gasoline engine connected to an electric motor and a self-charging lithium-ion battery. The internal combustion engine produces 300 hp. and 348 Nm, while the electric motor produces 180 hp. and 330 Nm for a combined power of 354 hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an intelligent transmission that combines a 4-speed automatic transmission and a CVT. When used in manual mode, the driver can choose from a total of 10 gear ratios. The Lexus LC500h accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 4.7 seconds.
Price and launch
Lexus also recently launched the all-new RX SUV in India with prices starting at Rs 95.80 lakh (ex-showroom) and will also launch the LM MPV later this year. Lexus showcased the previous generation LM at the auto show earlier this year, but in India, it is launching a new generation model.
