Mahindra BE.05 EV Car: With a range of 450kms and charging time of just 30mins, this vehicle can compete with Tata Curvv EV

Mahindra BE.05 EV Car: The Mahindra BE.05 electric SUV has been spotted tested for the first time almost a year after making its international premiere in the UK – on the outskirts of Chennai, close to Mahindra Research Valley. The BE.05 SUV test mule appears to be an almost exact replica of the concept vehicle unveiled the previous year. However, a closer examination reveals several minor modifications. The concept’s appearance has been improved with fewer cuts and creases on the external panels, and the concept’s cameras that served as wing mirrors have been replaced with traditional wing mirrors.

Know about the dimension and interior

The BE.05 keeps the concept’s four-door SUV-coupe style, which gives it a quite distinctive appearance. The BE.05 has the following dimensions in concept form: 4,370mm in length, 1,900mm in width, 1,635mm in height, and 2,775mm in wheelbase. We anticipate that the manufacturing version will have a comparable footprint. The concept BE.05’s interior featured a dual-screen arrangement with a two-spoke steering wheel and a rotary control with a huge gear selector, but there are no spy photos of the production-spec BE.05’s interior.

Know about the design

However, a standard bonnet design has now taken the place of the concept’s distinctive air duct. The flush door handles from the concept might also be moved to a more typical location and not at the top of the door in the actual version, even if they are not clearly visible here. The BE.05 is an SUV-coupe with a sloping roofline that seamlessly integrates into the back end. The BE.05’s rear design includes C-shaped taillamps and a significantly stylized bumper, which, like the front look, will be carried through with minor changes in production.

Know about the platform and powertrain

One of the several born-electric Mahindra SUVs that will ride on the brand-new INGLO EV skateboard platform is the BE.05. The BE.05’s precise powertrain specifications have not been made public, but what is known is that this platform will make use of a common battery pack architecture with standardised cell-to-pack technology that will utilise both Blade and Prismatic cell structures.Depending on the model, vehicle batteries will range in size from 60 to 80 kWh and be capable of fast charging at up to 175 kW, which would charge the battery to 80% in less than 30 minutes. According to Mahindra, the WLTP cycle should provide the 80kWh battery a driving range of between 435 and 450 kilometres.

Mahindra BE.05 EV car: what will it rival?

By October 2025, the Mahindra BE.05 SUV, which will be positioned above the XUV400 EV, will go on sale. It will compete directly with the 2024-released Tata Curvv EV.
