Mahindra discontinues Alturas G4 in India, XUV 700 becomes the flagship SUV offered, all you should know

Mahindra: In India, Mahindra has stopped selling the Alturas G4. The company’s website no longer features the full-size SUV. Additionally, Mahindra & Mahindra has stopped taking orders for the SUV in the nation. For those who don’t know, the Mahindra Alturas G4 was the brand’s costliest SUV. It was created in collaboration with the SsangYong car company in Korea. Mahindra XUV 700 will now hold the rank in respect.

What did the company say?

The official Mahindra Alturas G4 website states, “We thank you for your interest in the Alturas. The sale of Alturas is on hold till further notice, —> due to market conditions. In the meantime please take a look at our other exciting offerings from our range of authentic and sophisticated SUVs.”

Recently, Mahindra revealed the top-of-the-line RWD variants of the SUV. At Rs 30,86 lakh, it competed with vehicles like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and Volkswagen Taigun.

The 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine that powers the Mahindra Alturas G4 is said to have a maximum output of 181 horsepower and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. The engine was connected to a 7-speed automatic transmission made by Mercedes. The SUV was available in two models: AWD and RWD.

Utilizing entirely disassembled kits, the Alturas G4 was put together in India. The SUV’s features include an electric sunroof, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, ventilated seats, and HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The SUV has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Nine airbags and a 360-degree camera-assisted parking system are security features.
