Mahindra to discontinue three SUVs in India, read all the details here

Mahindra: Mahindra has swept the country by storm thanks to models like the XUV 700, Thar, and Scorpio N. Although the firm has seen a significant increase in the sales of its new-generation SUVs, this does not change the reality that it still has a few mediocre models in its lineup. Despite the firm’s quick expansion, several of its previously released SUVs are still having trouble finding buyers, and in order to address this, it is anticipated that the company will soon be abandoning some of the models in its lineup.

Mahindra List

KUV 100

The KUV 100, the company’s smallest SUV, is at the top of the list of the current vehicles being considered for discontinuance. The KUV 100 was originally introduced by Mahindra in 2016, making it one of the first SUVs of this size to be introduced in the nation. Despite India’s fascination with SUVs, the sales eventually declined because there was little consumer interest in the vehicles. So much so that the business was only able to ship two KUV 100 units in November of this year. As a result, it is anticipated that Mahindra would shortly stop producing this model.

Mahindra Marazzo

The Marazzo, Mahindra’s answer to the powerful Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6, maybe the next vehicle to go. The Marazzo is one of the models in the product selection that might be discontinued very soon with only 201 units sold in November 2022, a decrease of 5.63 per cent on a month-over-month basis. Despite being a relatively nice vehicle overall, it was unable to compete with the Maruti MPV brothers since it lacked a petrol engine and an automatic transmission option.

Alturas G4

Alturas G4, the company’s flagship model, is the final model that has already been taken down from the brand’s official website. Since the XUV 700 made its debut and replaced the Alturas G4 as the star of the lineup, the Alturas G4 has been pushed to the side in Mahindra’s lineup. Strong competition between the Fortuner and the top-of-the-line SUV also contributed to its low sales. Additionally, it would be difficult for the company to continue making the car now that it has severed ties with the SsangYong brand. For those who are unaware, the Alturas G4 was built on the SsangYong Rexton. Mahindra formerly used CKD kits from the SsangYong plant in South Korea to build the car in India.
