Maruti Suzuki YY8: The next few years will see the introduction of a seven-seat, top-of-the-line premium SUV. By introducing its first all-electric SUV by the middle of this decade, Maruti Suzuki will deepen its alliance with Toyota.
Internally known as YY8, it is expected to have a radical new stylistic approach and target international markets. In terms of size, it will be broader and taller than the Hyundai Creta and have proportions similar to those of the MG ZS EV. The Tata Nexon EV, the nation’s best-selling passenger EV at the moment, will probably be its main competitor.
Maruti Suzuki YY8 expected range
The Maruti Suzuki YY8 boasts two 48kWh and 59kWh battery packs that, when fully charged, may provide a riding range of 400km and 500km, respectively. Besides this, it has a two-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive option, and its power ranges from 137 to 170 horsepower.
Design
In addition to the rest of the design, the Maruti Suzuki YY8 SUV will include aero-optimized wheels in the future. Its silhouette will be approximately 4.2 in length and have a 2700 mm wheelbase.
Expected price and launch date
The cost of the car may range from 13 to 15 lakh rupees, which is less expensive than a Tata Nexon EV. The Maruti YY8 SUV will go on sale in the last quarter of 2025.
