The Italian supercar with two seats made its debut in 2020, ushering in a new chapter in the illustrious history of Maserati. With pricing starting at roughly Rs. 3.65 crore (ex-showroom), it is now available for purchase in India.

What is the Maserati MC20?

The MC20 is the centrepiece of Maserati’s assault to introduce 10 new or modified vehicles as part of its rebirth strategy. The car’s name contains a 20 to denote the year 2020, while the “MC” stands for “Maserati Corse,” which translates to “Maserati Racing.” Since the original MC12, it is Maserati’s first true flagship model. A convertible variant known as the MC20 Cielo is additionally available and is anticipated to be released in India shortly after.

Know about the powertrain

The 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine that powers the MC20 is known as Nettuno (which is Italian for Neptune) and is mid-mounted. With a power output of about 630 bhp and a weight to power ratio of 2.33 kg/bhp, the MC20 is able to lift just 1,500 kg. From a complete stop, Maserati says that the MC20 can accelerate to 100 kmph in less than three seconds. An eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox is used to send the 730Nm of twisting power exclusively to the rear wheels.
