Ola electric scooter: The largest EV hub in the world with integrated 2W, Car, and lithium-cell Gigafactories will be established in Tamil Nadu, according to an announcement from Ola. Ola’s CEO, Bhavish Agarwal, tweeted that the company had today signed an agreement with Tamil Nadu. He thanked MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, for the assistance and collaboration of the TN government. According to earlier reports, Ola plans to purchase 1500 acres of land in the state to build an electric vehicle factory.
Ola’s powerful battery pack and range
When comparing the costs of these scooters, the battery alone is more than half the price of the whole thing. Finding out how much EV batteries cost is shocking. For instance, the battery pack and electric motor for the Nexon EV cost Rs 11 lakh. When purchasing EVs, one must consider the cost of the batteries.
In addition, unlike the numerous slow-speed electric scooters, Ola’s batteries are a part of a high-voltage EV architecture. The peak power of Ola’s motors ranges from 4.5 kW (S1 Air) to 8.5 kW. (S1 & S1 Pro). Costs associated with battery development and battery optimization also increase the overall cost. According to claims, Ola’s scooter lineup can travel up to 181 km on a single charge

Ola electric scooter: Very profitable and a mature business
Ola CEO Agarwal plans to offer motorbikes in addition to expanding the variety of scooter models, which could happen in the next year or so. Last year, Ola unveiled its first scooter. Recent reports state that the EV manufacturer also plans to start up its own EV taxi service in Bengaluru. The company eventually wants to double the city’s current number of EU taxis to more than 10,000 in a single year. Despite frequent customer complaints about declining service quality, Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of Ola, claims that the ride-hailing industry is “very profitable” and “a mature business.”
