River EV: The market for electric two-wheelers is becoming increasingly competitive due to India’s expanding use of them. We might see a new competitor in the near future who goes by the name of River EV, while there are currently many competitors working hard to build a reputation for themselves. It is a Bangalore-based startup, and lately, one of its future electric scooters was observed being tested.

River EV test mule

Even though the spotted test mule was completely disguised, the scooter’s design is easily noticeable. Uncanny similarities exist between the front fascia and the Yamaha Neo electric scooter. An uncovered digital console is crowned by a large front apron that houses two LED headlamps with square shapes. The rear part also presents a hefty appearance due to its huge panels, broad grab rail, and rectangular tail lamp. The stepped seat and footboard also appear to be rather roomy.

The e-scooter appears to have high-end hardware, including huge alloy wheels (perhaps 14-inch models), telescopic forks up front, and a disc brake. One intriguing feature is the clip-on handlebar, which is unusual for scooters. The River EV scooter is anticipated to have a range of 180 kilometres and a top speed of 80 kilometres per hour, while the battery and engine specifications are still unknown. As we approach closer to the actual launch, which may occur in the second half of 2023, more information will become available.
