Engine
For the Gixxer 250 SF, Suzuki has created a unique oil-cooled engine. This 249cc single-cylinder engine is entirely oil-cooled and lacks cylinder block fins. By circulating the fluid through the pressure-sensitive regions, it uses engine oil to cool the engine. The peak torque is somewhat lower at 22.2Nm in the BS6-compliant variant, but it produces the same amount of power (26.5PS) as the BS4 version.
The same single-cylinder, 124.9cc, liquid-cooled engine that powers the KTM RC 125 continues to produce 14.9PS and 12Nm. KTM has, however, increased the torque spread by giving it a 40% bigger airbox. Additionally, a redesigned, curved radiator with two fans helps with heat management better than before to make life simpler.
Features
Suzuki used the same design aesthetic for the Gixxer 250 SF as it did for the smaller Gixxer SF. They have the same appearance, but the two models can be distinguished by minor colour changes. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 now has LED tail and headlights, giving it a somewhat robocop-like appearance. It sports a full-digital instrument cluster with the typical amount of information seen on a motorbike of its calibre, including a gear position indicator, a clock, and a few trip metres.
Recent changes to the RC 125 supersport have been significant. It receives a redesigned front fascia that is similar to that of its older brothers, the RC 200 and the RC 390, and features a uni-pod halogen headlight. It also receives new LED indicators with fairing integration and an LED tail light. A new LCD console, similar to the one on the KTM 250 Adventure, has replaced the orange backlit instrument console.
Price in India
Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF costs Rs 2,02,000 for the Metallic Matte Stellar Blue and Metallic Matte Black No.2 colour schemes, and Rs 2,02,500 for the high-end dual-tone “Metallic Sonic Silver with Triton Blue” (both ex-showroom Delhi).
The cost of the RC 125, KTM’s smallest supersport, is Rs 1,86,861. (ex-showroom Delhi).
