Tesla Electric Truck: The first electric semi-truck from America’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla, has now been delivered to PepsiCo. At Tesla’s Nevada Gigafactory in the United States, Tesla gave Pepsi the keys to the first production vehicle in the lineup.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, unveiled the car at a gathering in Nevada. “That thing looks like it came from the future,” Telsa chief Elon Musk said.
Since Musk presented the vehicle’s prototype for the first time in 2017, promising that production will begin in 2019, the vehicle has been eagerly anticipated. Battery limitations are thought to be the cause of the delay.

Tesla Semi-truck features
When towing an 82,000-pound (37,000-kg) cargo, the Semi truck, according to Musk, has a range of 500 miles (around 800 kilometres) per charge. It can carry a maximum weight of 33,000 pounds (14,969 kg) of cargo.
According to the CEO of Tesla, the truck has three times the power of a diesel-powered truck. It’s a “game changer,” he said.
Several automakers, notably Daimler, Volvo, and China’s BYD, unveiled their own trucks in the time between Semi’s announcement and unveiling.
However, transportation specialists cite Tesla’s primary design as an electric vehicle as evidence of its distinctiveness. Semi’s battery-powered nature has been questioned by manufacturers of hydrogen-powered semis. They contend that recharging the massive batteries would take significantly longer for long-haul carriers, tilting the scales in favour of hydrogen-powered vehicles.
Are electric vehicles taking over?
Tesla is a favourite among many automobile aficionados thanks to its sleek, futuristic aesthetics, But there are other elements that influence how popular electric cars become. For environmental concerns, many nations are enacting legislation to phase out trucks powered by internal combustion engines.
Tesla has not yet disclosed the Semi’s cost. Generally speaking, electric trucks are more expensive than their diesel-powered equivalents by roughly 70%. In the long run, nevertheless, they are significantly more cost-effective due to fuel and maintenance savings.
