Toyota Innova Hycross: Innovative design, powerful engine and plush interiors make this a must buy in its segment, details here

Toyota Innova Hycross: The Innova Hycross will officially debut on November 25 in India after Toyota removes the wraps on it on November 21. The pricing and market introduction, however, are anticipated for Auto Expo 2023. For its subsequent generation, the Innova undergoes numerous changes and receives numerous firsts. Here are the top five things to be aware of regarding the brand-new Toyota premium MPV:

New design

We have a good notion of the Innova Hycross’ design because to the various teases, spy photos, and image leaks. With the generational upgrade, the MPV’s new looks appear to be more evolutionary than completely different. With a nod to the Fortuner in its SUV-like forms, the new Innova has a more contemporary and sportier appearance thanks to its big front grille, svelte LED headlamps, and chiselled hood. The silhouette is recognisable from a profile and has two distinct folds. The effect is completed by the LED tail lamps that wrap around.

Unique interior chages

Although the external makeover may give the impression that this is only a cosmetic, there have been substantial changes within. Unlike the existing Innova Crysta, which is constructed on a ladder-frame chassis, the Innova Hycross is based on a monocoque platform. It will also be a front-wheel drive model rather than a rear-wheel drive MPV.

The next-generation Innova Hycross will have the option of a potent hybrid drivetrain that combines a 2-liter gasoline engine and produces about 190 PS. For a lesser starting price, it might also be available without the hybrid technology. Toyota won’t include a diesel engine with the new MPV.

Interior is getting better

Toyota has revealed through teasers that the Innova Hycross would have a panoramic sunroof, which is a first for the brand, even though little of the inside has been seen. A larger touchscreen infotainment system with silver accents looks to be on the dashboard. The next-generation MPV is anticipated to come in seven- or six-seater variations, with captain seats in the middle row, just like the Crysta.

New features onboard

A number of ADAS technologies are included with the Innova Hycross in addition to the previously stated panoramic sunroof. A 360-degree camera, premium audio system, digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, and a heads-up display are additional features that are anticipated to be added over the Innova Crysta. The MPV already includes conveniences like a motorised driver’s seat, steering-mounted controls, and keyless entry with push-button start.

Expected price and rivals

Toyota will probably reveal the Innova Hycross price at the 2023 Auto Expo. It will continue to be a high-end alternative to the Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo with an expected starting price of around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, the Hycross will be offered for sale alongside the current Innova Crysta.
