Can a policeman fine you without providing a receipt?
In areas where traffic cameras are present, online fines are being deducted more frequently, while physical fines are issued in areas without cameras. Occasionally, situations arise in camera-less areas where drivers claim to have been fined by traffic police without receiving a receipt.
If a traffic policeman fails to give you a receipt after collecting a challan fine, it is considered a corrupt act when they keep the money. If this happens to you, it is important to report it to a senior officer in the department. Always be sure to ask for and keep your receipt when paying any fines.
