TVS Motor India: From 2,85,247 units in May 2022 to 3,17,249 units in May 2023, TVS Motor Company has experienced YoY growth in sales (domestic + exports). While exports significantly decreased year over year, domestic markets saw considerable growth.
According to the reports of The Financial Express, TVS Jupiter scooter has ranked no.1 in the month of May in the domestic sales of the company.
With 1,91,482 units sold in May 2022 being replaced by 2,52,690 units in May 2023, domestic market sales increased by 31.97 percent YoY to 2,52,690 units. 61,208 more units were added to the volume. Comparing it to the 2,32,956 units sold in April 2023, there was also a MoM increase.
Domestic sales of May
The TVS Jupiter scooter topped the domestic sales rankings with 57,698 units sold last month, a decrease of 3.21 percent from 59,613 units sold in May 2022. On this list, Jupiter presently holds a 22.83 percent market share. The Honda Activa took the top spot on the top 10 list in May 2023, placing the Jupiter scooter at No. 2.
Sales of the TVS Apache climbed by 55.14 percent to 41.955 units in May 2023 from 27,044 units in May 2022. The XL moped, with a 1.96 percent YoY gain to 35,837 units sold in the previous month, came in second. The TVS Raider experienced exceptional sales increase after only 344 units were sold in May 2022.
TVS Exports dip 31.15 percent in May 2023
May 2023 saw a decline in exports of 31.15 percent, with TVS Motor Company shipping 64,559 units in the previous month as opposed to 93,765 units in May 2022. From the 60,348 units supplied in April 2023, it increased MoM.
The company’s Star City 125 model saw the most exports last month. 28,731 units were exported, which is a decrease of 29.43% from the 40,710 units sold in May 2022. Currently, The Star City 125 controls a 44.50 percent share. Additionally, Star City exports decreased 43.57 percent YoY from 23,500 units sold in May 2022 to 13,262 units shipped in May 2023.
TVS Motor India: 100% growth in TVS Victor
From 480 units sold in May 2022 to 960 units supplied last month, TVS Victor exports increased by 100%. The Sport (828 units), Wego (632 units), Radeon (160 units), RR310 (60 units), and XL (54 units) were also on the export list.
