Upcoming SUVs: The Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos, two popular SUVs, will get major updates in the next few months. The new Creta won’t be out until early 2024, but the updated Seltos should be out before the end of this year, according to reports. The current models are still the best-selling midsize SUVs and are at the top of the list. But this could change in the future, as Honda, Tata, and Mahindra all plan to bring their mid-sized SUVs to our market.
Tata CUrvv
Tata Motors will launch the Curvv SUV Coupe in the country in 2024. The new GEN 2 platform—basically an Alfa platform that has been extensively modified—will serve as the foundation for the SUV Coupe. It will have choices for both combustion and electric engines. The new variant will be propelled by a brand-new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder TGDi engine that makes 125 PS and 225 Nm of torque. It’s expected to have dual-clutch automatic and 6-speed manual gearbox options. The same 1.5L turbodiesel motor that powers the Nexon will also power the diesel variant. The car is expected to be equipped with a 40 kWh battery, which will provide a range of around 400 km.
New Honda SUV
By the middle of 2023, Honda will formally declare plans to launch a brand-new mid-sized SUV in the nation. The new vehicle, which will compete with the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos, will be built on the fifth-generation City chassis. It will be the new global model for the company and will be sold in a few specific foreign markets. A 1.5-litre 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine, which also powers the City, will be available for the new variant. According to a recent rumour, the new SUV might also get a new 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. A new 1.5-litre gas + e:HEV hybrid engine will also be added.
XUV 500
The XUV 500 will be reinstated by Mahindra with a brand-new mid-sized SUV. The new XUV 500, which will rest below the XUV 700, will be about 4.3 to 4.4 metres long. In the mid-sized SUV class, it will compete with vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and others. The XUV300 platform will serve as the foundation for the new vehicle, which will come standard with front-wheel drive. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engine choices are most likely to be available.
New Renault Duster
The new Duster SUV will formally debut in our market between 2024 and 2025, according to Renault. In reality, the SUV was observed conducting testing abroad. The CMF-B platform, which the Renault-Nissan alliance heavily localised, will be used to design and create the third-generation Duster. A new 7-seater SUV that will compete with the Safari and the XUV700 will be supported by this design. This technology will be both future-proof and compliant with current and emerging safety standards. The new Duster will be introduced with a petrol motor at first, and hybrid and electric vehicles will be added later. Additionally, it will have an AWD system.
