Engine and transmission
Two different powertrains are available for the Volvo XC90: a 303PS/400Nm plug-in hybrid motor and a mild hybrid petrol engine with 300PS/420Nm. Each comes with an all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Performance-wise, a plug-in hybrid completes the 0-100kmph sprint in 5.8 seconds, compared to 6.7 seconds for a mild hybrid. Both have 180 kmph top speeds that are electronically capped.
Features
The luxurious SUV from Volvo features a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, powered front seats with massage features, air suspension, a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument panel, and a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a Bower and Wilkins sound system.
In terms of safety, the new XC90 has seven airbags, radar-based adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, front and rear collision avoidance, city braking, blind spot recognition with cross-traffic alert, and run-off road protection.
