Maruti Suzuki: An Indian car company, said on Wednesday that it is recalling 17,362 cars made between December 8, 2022 and January 12, 2023, because the airbag controllers might be broken. Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno, and Grand Vitara are all models that are affected.
The affected models will be checked
As part of the recall, the affected models will be checked, and if necessary, the affected part of the airbag controller will be replaced for free. It is thought that in rare cases, it could cause the airbags and seat belt pretensioners to not work in the event of a car crash. In the event of an accident, this could kill people.
Maruti Suzuki has told the owners of the affected vehicles that they shouldn’t drive or use them until the part is fixed. The company’s authorised repair shops will let the owners of the affected vehicles know what they need to do right away.
This has helped reduce the company’s carbon footprint
In a separate event, Maruti Suzuki sent more than 3.2 lakh units of vehicles by Indian Railways in the calendar year 2022. This is the most vehicles it has ever sent by rail in any calendar year. This has helped the company offset about 1,800 MT of CO2 emissions and save more than 50 million litres of fuel over the course of a year. This has helped reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
The company has also saved more than 45,000 truck trips by using the rail mode. Hisashi Takeuchi, the Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, thanked the railways for their work and said, “We are grateful to Indian Railways for continuing to help us in our efforts to send more vehicles by train. Going forward, we want to make these numbers even bigger. In order to do this, we are building special railroad tracks at our facilities in Manesar, Haryana, and Gujarat.”
