Kona Electric: Hyundai has started the production of its all-new Kona Electric at its Czech Republic production facility. The company intends to manufacture more than 20,000 units of the new Kona during the first year of production. Hyundai aims to sell only zero-emission vehicles in Europe by 2035. According to Hyundai’s electrification strategy, which calls for the release of eleven new EVs by 2030, the second-generation Kona is really led by the EV variant.
Hyundai has always committed to serving its clients best in Europe. Hyundai’s first electric vehicle to be produced in Europe was the first-generation KONA Electric back in 2020.
Customers in Europe had much shorter delivery times thanks to the strategic choice to produce at HMMC in addition to the company’s Ulsan factory in South Korea. This approach to better serve the European market—made in Europe, for Europe—is maintained by the second-generation KONA Electric.
Around 21,000 units are planned for production by 2023 end, and another 50,000 are planned for production after 2023.
