Aston Martin Valour: The Valour, an upcoming Aston Martin supercar, has had its exterior wrapped off. It is the brand’s 110th birthday gift to itself and borrows styling cues from the original V8 Vantage and the ‘The Muncher’ RHAM/1 prototype racer from the 1970s. Its revered V12 engine, which is paired with a manual transmission in this instance, is what makes it most unique.
Aston Martin Valour is a limited edition
Only 110 of this supercar will be built by Aston Martin, and the owners will be given the opportunity to personalise their vehicle through the company’s Q customised service, where they will be presented with unique liveries, an exposed carbon-fibre body finish, and a bevy of interior customization possibilities.
Know about the engine and powertrain
With a 5.2-liter engine, 715-horsepower, twin-turbo V12 engine based on the DBS Superleggera positioned up front, this new Aston delivers 752Nm of torque to the rear wheels with a specially created 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. The DBS, DB11, and Vantage all have automatic gearboxes supplied by ZF, so mating the V12 to a manual gearbox was “a big part of honouring that driver-pleasing character,” explained Aston Martin engineering manager Simon Newton to our sister site Autocar UK.
Here are the interior features
The inside features a classic two-seater cockpit to honour Aston Martin’s past as well as a gorgeously carved oak manual gear lever. Some of the switchgear, as well as the placement of the touchscreen infotainment system and AC vents, all reveal that the dashboard’s design has been carried over from the Vantage.
Know about the exterior
The enormous “horse shoe” vent and twin NACA ducts on the clamshell bonnet provide for plenty of ventilation for the dual-turbocharged V12 engine below. Aston Martin’s signature grille has changed over time to enhance both form and function. Aluminium strakes delineate its central section, while huge carbon fibre intakes on either side bring cool air to the engine and brakes. They also surround Valour’s characteristic spherical LED headlights, which are hidden beneath an intimidating grille shaped like a rakish eyebrow.
