5 ways to decrease environmental impact

In Present times, when our country is heading towards to achieve the Internationally declared Sustainable goals to decrease overall carbon emissions of the country. It’s the responsibility of every individual in the country to contribute their part. Vehicles run by non-renewable fuel like petrol, diesel are the major contributors of the carbon emissions. In this article, we will tell you how you can decrease the environmental impact of your car. Know all the ways in the story.

Increase the temperature of AC

In case of hot weather outside, we often use our car’s air conditioners on the full blast. But when your car cools down prefer raising the temperature of AC by a degree or two. Doing this on a daily basis, you will find that your car is consuming less fuel than earlier, as a result you save energy too and this helps to lessen the carbon footprints.

Don’t carry unnecessary weight

Carrying unnecessary weight can lead to consumption of more fuel because carrying junk in your boot space adds to the overall weight of the car. You are suggested to use lightweight foot mats, alloy wheels and to avoid using heavy seat covers.

Choose an easier route

Choosing an easier and fuel-efficient route will simply increase your car’s mileage. An easier route doesn’t always mean a shorter route, it can be quite long (but with more steady state cruising) will make you reach at your destination with less fuel consumption. In case of EV, a route with some traffic can help the vehicle to regenerate more quickly rather than empty roads that will consume more with the throttle mode opened for a long duration of time.

Use Public transport for nearby commutes

Instead of using public transport, we often prefer using our car for nearby commutes too without keeping in mind the emissions caused by the vehicle. You are suggested to use public transport for close commutes to decrease the negative impact on the environment caused by your car.

Don’t wash frequently

Don’t wash your car frequently as water is a valuable resource that is needed to be saved for our next generation. Whenever you wash your car, use a bucket of water instead of using a hose pipe with continuous water flow. If you prefer taking your car to commercial car washes, prefer the one with waterless option.
