Baleno: While SUVs took the stage in January, Maruti Suzuki still held seven of the top ten positions. With the arrival of new members like the Fronx, the Baleno took the lead in the group. SUVs that were able to achieve five spots were Tata’s Punch and Mahindra’s Scorpio/N.
Baleno becomes Top selling car in January 2024
The Maruti Baleno was the best-selling model in January 2024, with a monthly volume of 19,630 units, representing a 20% YoY rise. Maruti shipped 16,357 of the high-end hatchbacks within the same time frame in the previous year. Tata Punch secured the runner-up position with a volume of 17,978 units, resulting in a noteworthy 50% YoY growth.
With seven models among the top ten automobiles sold in India in January 2024, Maruti Suzuki maintained its dominant position in the market.
Baleno specs
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is powered by a 1.2-liter Dualjet petrol engine that generates 90PS and 113Nm. The basic transmission on the Baleno is still a 5-speed manual, but the new AMT automatic drivetrain takes the place of the antiquated CVT. Maruti’s mild hybrid option is no longer available, but the engine of the Baleno still uses idle start/stop technology to improve fuel efficiency. The automatic variant achieves 22.94 km/l while the manual model achieves 22.35 km/l, according to the company. The engine’s output drops to 77 PS and 98.5 Nm in CNG mode, but its fuel efficiency rises to 30.61 km/kg.
