BYD Seal EV: As scheduled, BYD has launched the all-new BYD Seal in India. The BYS Seal has been priced strategically by BYD to give stiff competition to its rivals in the Indian market. BYS Seal is the third offering in India by the China-based automaker after the BYD e6 MPV and Atto 3 SUV. With the launch of its third offering in India, BYD has covered all the hot-selling segments- MPV, SUV and Sedan.
BYD Seal Bookings Starts
BYD has already opened the booking window for the Seal EV with a token amount of Rs. 1.25 lakh. Customers who will book the Sedan EV before March 31, 2024, will get a free 3 kW portable charging box, free installation of a home charger and free 6 years of roadside assistance.
BYD Seal Powertrain
The BYD Seal EV has arrived in India with two battery options- 61.44 kWh and 82.56 kWh. Both these batteries come with BYD’s blade technology. The 61.44 KWh battery paired with a single motor allows the electric sedan to churn out a maximum power of 204 bhp and a peak torque of 310 Nm. On a single full charge, the smaller battery option provides a maximum driving range of 510 km.
The bigger 82.5 kWh battery pack comes with both RWD and AWD options. The RWD guise comes with a single motor placed at the rear axle, the Seal EV generates a maximum power of 312 bhp and a peak torque of 360 Nm with a maximum driving range of 650 Km. On the other hand, the AWD option gets a dual motor setup on both axles and produces even more power of 530 bhp and a peak torque of 670 Nm. The top-end model of BYD Seal accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 3.9 seconds.
BYD Seal EV Features
In terms of features, the BYD Seal comes equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch driver’s display. The Seal gets almost the same interior setup as the BYD Atto 3. Additionally, the electric Sedan comes with features like volume control, a heated windscreen, two wireless charging pads and physical buttons for controlling the audio system’s volume. The rear seats can be folded and can be converted into an extra space for luggage.
Other features of the Seal EV include memory seats, Wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, an 8-way Electronically adjustable driver seat, 10 airbags, ADAS tech, ABS with hill hold assist, and a 360-degree camera. As far as safety is concerned, the Seal comes with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
Seal EV Price in India
BYD Seal EV has arrived in India with a starting price tag of Rs. 41 lakh for the base model which goes up to Rs. 53 lakh for the top-end model AWD model.
