Hyundai micro SUV: The highly redesigned Venue compact SUV was recently introduced in the local market by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL). With the introduction of the new generation Tucson a few weeks ago, the SUV lineup has expanded even further. The wildly popular Creta midsize SUV will likely go on sale in India in the early months of next year with a number of updates.
The Santro hatchback, which had previously served as the gateway vehicle for purchasing a Hyundai, was discontinued by the South Korean automaker this year, and the Eon was also no longer produced. The Grand i10 Nios is the brand’s domestic model with the lowest price point at the moment, but that could change sooner rather than later as a micro SUV may be in the works.
The best selling vehicles
In recent years, new automobile purchasers have tended to favour the compact and midsize SUV segments, although the micro SUV market has also seen growth. The Tata Punch, which was introduced around the end of last year, has been a huge success for the domestic automaker and consistently ranks among the top 15 volume charts each month as Tata’s second-best-selling vehicle behind Nexon.
Hyundai micro SUV: Hyundai Casper
A brand-new mini SUV from Hyundai, which is anticipated to make its international premiere at the 2023 Auto Expo in January, could target the same market. According to reports, the Hyundai Casper, which is available in international markets, may be too small for India because its length is less than 3.6 metres. The five-seater mini SUV for India might therefore be tailored to the regional market.
The future model might use the Grand i10 Nios’ platform and come with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine with naturally aspirated combustion. It might be loaded with gadgets and have a style that appeals to young people and first-time purchasers.

Hyundai micro SUV: Rivals
It’s important to remember that Hyundai is also working on an electric vehicle for India that could be released in 2024 and is based on the Venue compact SUV. It might compete with vehicles like the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 and the Tata Nexon EV.
