New Car Assessment Programmes (NCAP) are a sort of safety performance assessment programme. It evaluates the performance of new automotive designs against a variety of safety hazards. In India, it is regulated by BHARAT NCAP. The goal of Bharat NCAP is to give a fair and impartial assessment of automobile crash safety performance. It is based on AIS 197-compliant standard laboratory testing. Anticipation of 2024 Maruti suzuki Swift in BNCAP ?
In the last month of previous year (i.e, 2023), Bharat-NCAP declared the list of few vehicles that went through the crash test. According to a post from the social media handle of Bharat-NCAP, recently a new set of vehicles might been tested. However, BNCAP has not declared the names of any vehicles. Meanwhile, people are anticipating for the name of 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift as the debut of this vehicle is in the coming week. There is no such verification by either BNCAP or Maruti Suzuki that the car has been tested by the safety performance assessment programme or not. However, the Maruti Suzuki Swift 2024 is likely to debut in India on May 9th this year.
Mission of Bharat-NCAP
In order to build a strong road safety measures, the objective of Bharat NCAP is to, “increase road safety across the nation’s new vehicle models by defining and advocating stringent vehicle safety standards beyond mandated legislation. We hope to improve safety awareness, prevent traffic accidents, and save lives through rigorous testing and evaluation.”
