Mahindra EV collabs AR Rahman: At a recent event in South Africa, Mahindra unveiled the Thar EV and the Scorpio N-based Global Pik Up. Aside from that, the company wants to improve the experience of passengers who ride in Mahindra automobiles. As a result, in cooperation with AR Rahman, the automaker has developed a sonic identity accentuating meaningful human encounters through music.
Making Aural compositions
AR Rahman spent time at Mahindra’s Kanchipuram testing facility analysing soundscapes of leading electric automobiles to create these aural compositions. His goal was to combine cutting-edge technology with a seamless in-car experience, replicating vehicle sounds while keeping passengers aware of their driving mode.
Mahindra EV collabs AR Rahman: More than 70 sounds
Rahman has created over 75 distinct sounds for the future Mahindra EVs as part of this cooperation. Interior and exterior drive noises, infotainment cues, functional signs like as seatbelt reminders and turn indicators, and experience zone modes are among the sounds available.
Mahindra collabs AR Rahman: Appreciation from Allah Rakha Rahman
AR Rahman, a musician, commented on the occasion, saying, “When I saw innovative electric vehicle designs abroad, I often wondered why India hadn’t yet taken that leap.” Working with Mahindra changed my perspective on it. Beyond their incredible aesthetics, they valued my acoustic ideas, underlining both the empowering experience and the immersive sensation of being in an eco-friendly, silent SUV on par with the best in the world.
Collaboration goes beyond just making music
Our collaboration goes beyond just making music; it symbolises the essence of Indian ingenuity on par. While I’ve used instruments from Japan, the United States, and Europe, seeing India emerge as a pioneering innovator fills me with enormous pleasure. We hope to provide a sonic experience that is both global and distinctly Indian in conjunction with Mahindra – a sound that resonates with pride and honours India’s enormous progress.”
