Maruti Suzuki Discounts: Price reductions for certain S-Presso and Alto K10 model variants are now in effect, according to Maruti Suzuki. The original price of ₹5.01 lakh (ex-showroom) for the S-Presso LXI Petrol has been reduced by ₹2,000. Similarly, the price of the Alto K10 VXI Petrol has dropped by ₹6,500.

Following Maruti Suzuki’s recent sales report, which showed a 3.9% decrease in overall car sales for August 2024, comes this price change. Compared to 189,082 units sold in August of previous year, the company sold 181,782 units in August. Of these, 26,003 were exported and 145,570 were sold domestically.
Significant Drop in Maruti Suzuki’s Mini and Compact Segments
Maruti Suzuki’s sales in the mini and compact classes declined significantly, from 84,660 units in August 2023 to 68,699 units. There was a notable 20% decline in the number of compact vehicles sold during the same period last year, with 58,051 units sold as opposed to 72,451 units for popular models including the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis and Swift.
Rise in Utility Vehicle Sales
Maruti Suzuki’s utility vehicle segment witnessed a favourable trend despite the overall downturn. Grand Vitara, Brezza, Ertiga, Invicto, Fronx, and XL6 are among the models whose dispatches jumped to 62,684 units last month from 58,746 units in August 2023.
