MG Air EV: The second electric vehicle from MG Motor India will be a small city car, and it will go on sale at the beginning of 2023. The vehicle made its public debut at the recently finished G20 Summit in Indonesia, where the Wuling Air EV served as the official means of transportation. The upcoming MG electric car would be a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV and was scheduled to debut in India on January 5. The MG ZS EV was introduced in a relatively upscale market, but the MG Air EV is anticipated to target a more mainstream market where cars like the Tata Tiago EV and Tata Tigor EV are offered for sale in India.

MG Air EV: The smallest one
The MG Air EV will be India’s smallest electric vehicle if it is simply the Wuling Air EV rebadged. It measures just 2,900 mm. It will also be the smallest four-wheeler available for purchase in the nation. Tata Nano and Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 are 3,445 mm and 3,099 mm in length, respectively. Despite the Bajaj Qute’s short length of 2,700 mm, it is categorised as a quadricycle and not a vehicle.
Expected range
Despite its diminutive size, the 200–300 km range it offers is astounding. Due to this, the car will be quite competitive when compared to rivals like the Tata Tiago EV and Tata Tigor EV. A 20–25 kWh battery pack and a single front-axle-mounted electric motor with a power output of about 68 hp are expected to power the upcoming MG ZS EV.
Debut in Auto Expo 2023
The Auto Expo 2023, which is scheduled for January, will be the largest automotive show for the Indian auto industry. What more appropriate event could there be for MG to introduce its EV than this one? The Auto Expo, which is making a comeback after a three-year absence, is anticipated to serve as the MG Air EV’s launch pad.
