Upcoming EVs in 2023: The peak production year for electric vehicles was 2022. Automakers intend to broaden their selection of electric vehicles across categories in response to the recent increase in EV use. We’ve developed a list of potential 2023 launches for electric vehicles in India.

Mahindra has previously made public all the details of its upcoming XUV400 EV electric vehicle. In January 2023, the official pricing will be disclosed. It boasts a 39.4kWh battery pack with 150PS and 350Nm of torque and a 456km range that has been verified by ARAI.
It will compete with the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV while being a more inexpensive option than the Tata Nexon EV Max and EV Prime.
Hyundai Ioniq EV
The Ioniq 5 is the second electric vehicle Hyundai will offer in India. The Korean manufacturer has already unveiled the crossover, confirming the features that will be provided. The Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 both share the EV-specific E-GMP platform as its structural foundation.

The Ioniq 5 is equipped with a single, rear-wheel-drive electric engine that has a 217PS and 350Nm rating and is paired with a 72.6kWh battery pack. The ARAI claims that the range of Hyundai’s electric crossover is 631km. The Volvo XC40 Recharge and Kia EV6 will be its rivals.

The Air EV, which MG will offer as its entry-level EV model and which will debut on January 5 in India, Although the precise debut date has not yet been announced, the Air EV will also be a part of MG’s range at the Auto Expo 2023. Two battery pack configurations for the Air EV are available internationally: 17.3kWh and 26.7kWh, with claimed ranges of 200km and 300km, respectively. The Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3 will face off against the MG micro-EV when it is introduced in India.
Citroen eC3
The eC3 is the moniker that Citroen has only lately given to its future electric vehicle in India. It will be a small electric hatchback based on the C3, and more features are anticipated for it than for the ICE version. It may have a 50kWh battery pack and an electric motor with a 350km range with 136PS and 260Nm of torque.

Another option for the electric hatchback could be a smaller battery pack with a 300-kilometer range. It will compete with the Tata Tiago EV, Tata Tigor EV, and the anticipated Tata Punch EV once it is available.
Upcoming EVs in 2023: Tata Punch EV
Tata, the top producer of electric vehicles in India, has revealed that an electric version of the Punch will be its upcoming model. It will be positioned in the middle of the Tiago EV and the Nexon EV Prime. It will also be the first Tata electric vehicle to be built on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture. The Altroz EV was previously displayed by Tata on this platform, but it was never put into production.

The Punch EV, like the majority of Tata EVs, may be fitted with one of two battery pack configurations with a 350km driving range. It is anticipated that the firm will display it during the 2023 Auto Show. When it debuts, it will square off against the anticipated Citroen eC3.
