Tata Motors: For the month of February 2024, Tata Motors only slightly surpassed Hyundai to take second place in the manufacturers’ sales statistics overall, however, Maruti Suzuki remained at the top. Tata Motors overtakes Hyundai in domestic car sales
In February 2024, Tata Motors outperformed Hyundai Motor India in terms of domestic passenger vehicle (PV) volume. The South Korean car giant’s Indian division supplied 50,201 vehicles to its dealers during the month, while the domestic auto major sold 51,267 units.
Tata has demonstrated impressive growth in recent months, mostly attributed to the impressive performance of its SUV models, like the Punch and Nexon. Even Hyundai’s SUVs, which include the Venue, Exter, and Creta, have shown good performance.
Hyundai was much ahead in exports in February 2024, even though it lagged behind Tata in terms of domestic volume. 10,300 units were shipped by the Creta manufacturer compared to 54 units by the Nexon manufacturer.
Hyundai produced 60,501 PV units total during the month (domestic + export). Tata produced 51,321 units in contrast.
